Concert & Birthday

On errrrr... a day last week I had my band concert. We played Troika, Overture 1812, Sabre Dance, Star Wars Main Theme . Mom missed some of it because someone with a name rhyming with Donnor hid in the front row.

This is at Mom's birthday. The choclate cake was G-O-O-D good. Errr... she got running stuff.

Next time I update(When I don't know '>.>) there will be pics of me and Connor playing tennis.

Super Busy, Super Fun!

We had a crazy busy weekend last weekend.

First we had Connor's birthday party with his friends. There were 5 other boys, 7 including Aidan and Connor. We were going to swim (you know, keep them BUSY!), but Connor's skin has been so irritated lately he wasn't up for it. So, we spent some quality time at the park and had a very wet watergun fight. In the end, they said it was a great party and went home drenched, but happy.

The next day we celebrated Grandma Elvester's 60th birthday. It is really on Friday, but schedules being what they are we did it on Saturday. We went and had a Mexican fiesta at Don Julio's. Alicia kept accusing everone of pouring her more Margarita. Whatever. Then we went to check out the Harness racing track. It was really entertaining, and the boys could go up and watch the races (who cares about the rain???) right by the track with Grandpa. How fun! We even won sometimes. Ok, we didn't lose too much.

Last, but really not least, it was Connor's birthday and Mother's Day on Sunday. So, we had a brunch at our house with both sides of the family. Everyone crammed in our little house for breakfast food and chat- but it went off well. All of the moms and Connor seemed to like their gifts. Our favorite part was Uncle Nick on the drums.

When everyone cleared out we gave Connor the afternoon to be the boss. This was going to be seeing Ironman, but we ended up going to the arcade for good old fashioned fun. Once everyone burned through their tokens and bought candy with their tickets we went home and Mom and Dad dropped on the couch exhausted!

OK- I get to talk smack about the boys because they are not doing their job.

They have been busy lately but not so much that they couldn't at least give you people a poll or something. Blame the nice weather- they are at the park as we speak. They took my cell phone so we could call when it's time to come home, otherwise we have to go find them, and while I am training for a marathon walking half a block to the park is more than I can exert.

So, here is what is going on:

Aidan is going into 7th grade next year and got to tour the school today. He assures us the lockers are too small to be shoved into. He also said that he is taller than most of the current 7th graders. So, good, he is tall and not worried about opening a locker from inside. He also took a math test down at the U this weekend to see if he qualifies for a program down there. Just taking the test is a big deal! He is also taking the lifeguard readiness course at the pool. He will soon be getting a second set of braces ($$$!). He is going to Summer Academy for Geo-caching after school is out which will keep him outdoors for about 3 weeks.

Connor is keeping busy with kickball and Scouts right now. He loves kickball, but he said some of the other kids were being sassy last time. It is interesting to hear any of his stories of this sort. He is NOT going to summer school this year because he worked so hard to get his tests and work up to par (some above average :)), so we are very happy with that. Connor is also going to a week-long camp in Crosslake this summer for kids with dermatological issues. We are going to miss him but it will be great for him to go! They have all the fun camp things and it is not about their health, it is more of a reprieve with nurses. Unfortunately, they want to do Allergy shots for him- which he is being very brave about (they haven't started yet!) Lastly, he gave me his bday list: Transformers, Money, a Laptop.

Dan is accepted to UND to do a distance learning program for Chem Engineering. He will have to go up to Fargo once in a while, but I told him to pretend it is a business trip and enjoy it to the max. ;) He is looking forward to it. He is otherwise doing Dan-like things such as spreading lime aroung the yard for optimal greenness/lushness/thickness. He can hardly wait to mow, you know! And walking Bozzy extensively, they have a bond that can't be broken.

I am keeping busy with PTA and Scouts (I am the Den-Mama- for just a while longer!) as well as training for some events coming up, like Grandma's Marathon and a relay from LaCrosse to Mpls. I am the team captain for the relay and need a name and a couple more members and we will be set. I am trying not to be a spazz about it (my mom says I am) but it is hard, because as one sympathetic but guilty team member said "it is like herding cats" (Andy!) Also, doing a 6.5 mile walk for MS (let me know if you can donate!) on a team (Go MS Kickers!!) for Alicia's sister, Missy on May 4th when the boys are out of town.

This is us at The Edgewater Waterpark and Resort in Duluth (Duhloopdeloop) That is a whirlpool. We tried to escape many times but to no avail. (Mainly because of Someone *cough* CONNOR* cough* *hack* *achoo* *chickentuna* *cough)
This is us at the most UN-Lazy River ever it pours water on you and goes fast but it is fun. They also had Water Slides
That is our snowball that Me, Connor and Dylan made with help from Dad. Pretty Big huh?

On easter I woke up @ 5:15 am I looked for my easter basket. Aidan found his first then we sat around tell 11:00 we went to grandma and granddpa E then played the dice game I won a duster then sold it for two dollors to grandma for Leshy.

Then stayed@ grandma H all day and went sleding then went to play with Maren then hand pulled out my tooth.The tooth fairy came I also got a Easter egg hunt.

Let me be more specific as to why there were no postings. The boys were alone today. That was kind of a first for them, for that length of time. So here is the timeline I can piece together:

9:00 a.m. Watching Nickelodeon
10:00 a.m. Call mom at work and let her know some lady called and I said you were in the shower. She is going to call back in a couple minutes.
11:00 Eat lunch of Corndogs as mom instructed. Still hungry- made pizza rolls but "WE ATE OUR FRUIT!"
12:00 Play games and try not to fight because we are being paid not to fight.
1:00 Watch TV and do nothing get 14th call from mom/dad asking if we are all right.
2:00 Play games with Tommy after calling mom at work to see if Tommy can bring his Super Awesome game over.
3:00 Ignore Grandma when she comes to pick you up to go to her house for the balance of the day, just because she doesn't have aforementioned super awesome game. Grandma leaves.
4:00 - 5:00 Continue playing game until dad comes home.

Just thought I would clarify why nothing got posted as promised!

On Saturday we had Ben and Baby *Max*! First Me (Aidan), Connor, and Ben played some Donkey Kong: Jungle Beat
then we played some:
Lego Starwars.

Then we decided to go sledding on the way there we Visited Mt. Luda (DUN DUN DUNNNNN!) we sledded for a while. Ben liked to go off jumps. Then it was back to Mt. Luda. We drank our cocoa. Then I was feeling lazy -_-

So Connor played with Ben they DUELED TO THE TIME BEN GOT TIRED...^_^ Then they hid in the "THE FORT OF AWESOMENESS"

Then they had to go...
